Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise for facility engineering and project management initiatives for HQDA G-4 staff.
  • Plan, design, and oversee construction, renovation, and maintenance of Army facilities per standards.
  • Manage multiple engineering projects through all phases: requirements, budgeting, design, construction, and closeout.
  • Coordinate with military leadership, installation directors, contractors, and agencies to identify needs and solutions.
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine scope, risks, and mitigations.
  • Prepare and review engineering plans, estimates, and technical reports.
  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with contract requirements and safety protocols.
  • Ensure sustainability, energy efficiency, and resilience in facility planning and execution.

  • Prepare and present briefings and recommendations to senior Army leadership.

Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Project/Facilities Engineer to support HQDA G-4 through strategic planning, operational analysis, enterprise coordination, program integration, and executive decision support. Successfully demonstrate competency in project execution, client delivery, critical thinking, and relationship management while upholding the highest standard of ethical behavior.


This position is part of the team supporting the Army HQDA G-4 ELISS program, delivering innovative solutions that enable critical Army logistics and sustainment missions.

Responsibilities


  • Provide subject matter expertise for facility engineering and project management initiatives for HQDA G-4 staff.

  • Plan, design, and oversee construction, renovation, and maintenance of Army facilities, ensuring compliance with Federal, DoW, and Army regulations, codes, and standards.

  • Manage multiple, concurrent engineering projects through all phases: requirements development, budgeting, design, acquisition, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders including military leadership, installation directorates, contractors, and other government agencies to identify infrastructure needs and develop solutions.

  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies to determine project scope, risks, and mitigation measures.

  • Prepare, review, and validate engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports.

  • Monitor contractor performance for compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, schedules, and safety protocols.

  • Ensure sustainability, energy efficiency, and resilience objectives are integrated into facility planning and execution.

  • Provide technical guidance for emergency repairs, modernization, and upgrades to critical facility systems.

  • Support planning and programming of Military Construction (MILCON) and Operations/Maintenance (O&M) funding actions.

  • Prepare and present briefings, status reports, and recommendations to senior Army leadership as required.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (civil, mechanical, electrical, architectural, or related discipline) from an ABET-accredited program.

  • At least five years of experience in facility engineering, project management, or construction management.

  • Knowledge of Federal, DoW, and Army facility engineering standards, regulations, and project delivery processes.

  • Working familiarity with engineering software, project management tools (e.g., MS Project), and AutoCAD or similar design platforms.

  • Must have a Secret security clearance.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.


Desired Qualifications



  • Master’s degree in engineering, construction management, or related field.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.

  • Experience with Army-specific planning and programming tools (e.g., DD1391, BUILDER SMS).

  • Experience managing large-scale, multi-phase military construction or facility modernization projects.

  • Familiarity with energy, sustainability, and resilience programs in military facilities.

  • Experience as a COR (Contracting Officer’s Representative) or with federal acquisition processes.

  • Prior experience working in a headquarters (HQDA, MACOM, or equivalent) environment.

  • Experience supporting contingency engineering or installation support during emergencies


The target salary range for this position is $85,000.00-$115,000.00.


The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is not a guarantee of compensation. Individual salaries are determined by various factors including, but not limited to location, internal equity, business considerations, client contract requirements, and candidate qualifications, such as education, experience, skills, and security clearances.


Applicants must meet eligibility requirements for a U.S. Government security clearance. Only US Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
