Position Title: Facilities Plumber - Texas Health Harris Methodist Hurst‑Euless‑Bedford - 1st Shift

Location: Texas Health Harris Methodist Hurst‑Euless‑Bedford

Job Summary

Plans and completes the daily operations of plumbing and utility maintenance responsibilities, including the planning and use of materials and inspection of plumbing equipment and systems, ensuring that all work performed meets regulatory requirements throughout the medical center. This is a 1st Shift schedule (7 am to 3:30 pm, Monday–Friday).

Responsibilities
  • Coordinates and schedules the activities of skilled trades staff in the maintenance and repair of hospital buildings and equipment.
  • Monitors work orders to completion of projects, ensuring that labor, supplies and materials are charged to appropriate work orders.
  • Provides direction to staff in the accurate methods to use in their duties to ensure the safety of patients, staff and visitors.
  • Conducts inspections of work sites to verify conformity and alignment with job specifications.
  • Recommends and implements policies and procedures for the assigned area.
  • Estimates equipment parts and materials needed to complete assigned work.
  • Maintains communication with vendors, contractors and departmental personnel to coordinate activities and share information regarding repair, alteration and maintenance of equipment, machinery, systems and buildings.
  • Performs all work in accordance with the Joint Commission, NFPA and all other applicable regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED (College preferred).
  • 3‑5 years of plumbing experience.
  • Hospital plumbing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend the English language.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time and withstand changing temperature conditions.
  • Ability to maneuver large trucks in and out of elevators and down corridors with ease.
  • Ability to lift and push heavy equipment.
  • Ability to bend with ease.
