Job summary

The Sacramento City Unified School District is seeking a GIS specialist to support long-range facilities planning, enrollment projections, and school boundary analysis. The role involves independent judgment, handling complex data, and producing maps, layers, shapefiles, charts, and reports using a Geographic Information System (GIS).

Responsibilities include coordinating developer fee and civic permit reporting, and serving as the department system administrator for software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in planning, architecture, geographic information science and technology, or related field.
• Two years of increasingly responsible GIS experience.
• Preference for individuals with K-12 public school experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement systems and research projects for long-range facilities planning, enrollment projections, and school boundary planning and analysis.
• Collect, process, maintain, and analyze statistical information; prepare GIS layers, shapefiles, maps, charts, and reports.
• Oversee developer fee and civic permit collection, accounting and reporting; act as department system administrator for software.
