Job summary

Ron Sunshine Associates LLC seeks a Facilities Manager for a large, automated personal care products campus in Bedford Park, IL. This on-site role owns facility systems, capital projects, and regulatory compliance to support shampoo, lotion, and other products.

You will lead engineering-minded operations, manage contractors across trades, optimize budgets, and ensure safety and OSHA standards across the site in a manufacturing setting. BS/BA and 7+ years' leadership experience are required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related field or equivalent certifications and 5+ years of facilities leadership in manufacturing.
• 7+ years of plant/facilities management in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience with HVAC, boilers, and electrical distribution.
• Proven contractor management across multiple trades.
• Strong budgeting, scheduling, and project coordination skills.
• Stationary Engineer license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all facility functions including HVAC, boilers, stationary engineering, building maintenance, and related systems.
• Manage on-site contractors across multiple trades including electrical and civil work, ensuring project standards, timelines, and safety.
• Manage on-site wastewater treatment systems and regulatory compliance.
• Develop and oversee capital project budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements.
• Ensure adherence to codes, OSHA requirements, and safety standards throughout the facility.
• Identify facility improvement opportunities and lead implementation from concept through completion.

Facilities Manager – Personal Care Products Manufacturing Location: Bedford Park, IL (On-site) Compensation: $140,000–$160,000 base + bonus

Overview

A century-old, family-owned personal care products manufacturer is adding a Facilities Manager to take full ownership of facility systems and infrastructure at a large, automated production campus in the Bedford Park area. This is a newly created position built to bring dedicated engineering leadership to a complex facility that has outgrown a generalist approach.

The operation produces shampoo, lotion, conditioner, and a broad range of personal care products at scale. The company is specifically looking for someone who comes from a manufacturing environment and understands how large industrial facilities operate from the inside.

What the Job Involves

• Oversee all facility functions including HVAC, boilers, stationary engineering, building maintenance, and related systems
• Manage on-site contractors across multiple trades including electrical and civil work, ensuring all projects meet facility standards, timelines, and safety requirements
• Manage on-site wastewater treatment systems and ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
• Develop and oversee capital project budgets, scopes, and schedules for infrastructure upgrades and facility improvements
• Ensure adherence to applicable codes, OSHA requirements, and safety standards throughout the facility
• Identify facility improvement opportunities and lead implementation from concept through completion

What They Need

• BS/BA degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field preferred or an equivalent combination of maintenance certifications and 5+ years of facilities management leadership in a manufacturing setting
• 7+ years of plant or facilities management experience in a manufacturing environment required
• Must come from manufacturing
• Hands-on experience with facility systems including HVAC, boilers, and electrical distribution
• Proven track record managing contractors across multiple trades simultaneously
• Strong project management skills including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor coordination
• Stationary Engineer license preferred
• Strong communicator who can work across departments and with diverse teams
