Job summary

A healthcare facility in Amite City is seeking a knowledgeable Facilities Maintenance Technician to assist the Facilities Director in preventative maintenance, inspections, installations, and repairs. Candidates must have at least 3 years of relevant experience in hospital settings, with a strong familiarity in general maintenance, electrical systems, plumbing, and HVAC. Certification as an ASHE Health Care Physical Environment Worker is required. Physical strength and the ability to lift 100lbs are also necessary to perform related duties.

Qualifications

• FMT II must have a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Considerable hand-eye coordination and ability to operate electronic and mechanical devices.

Job description

Previous Experience Required

Minimum 3 years hospital and/or facility maintenance experience, which should include hands on experience in general maintenance and repair, electrical, plumbing and HVAC. FMT II must have a minimum of 5 years experience

Specialized or Technical Education Required

High School Diploma or equivalent.

FMT II must be an ASHE Certified Health Care Physical Environment Worker and maintain certification.

Manual or Physical Skill Required

Requires considerable hand-eye coordination and extremely accurate touch in adjusting and repairing equipment and other devices. Must be able to properly operate electronic and mechanical devices.

Physical Effort Required

Frequent walking and climbing of stairs and ladders, intermittent stooping, bending and crawling while making repairs to equipment, steady muscular exertion demanding considerable strength, able to lift 100lbs.
