Job summary

UniFirst is seeking a Maintenance Utility Worker to help maintain the location building and equipment systems, perform plant cleaning, painting, and material handling. On-the-job training is provided and overtime may occur.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED, 2+ years of relevant experience, and the ability to operate forklifts and related tools. Benefits include 401K, health insurance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record are required.
• Ability to operate powered industrial equipment (forklifts, floor scrubbers, scissor lifts) and other similar tools as required.
• Experience using basic hand and power tools is required.
• Ability to read, comprehend and interpret procedures and instructions in English.
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from co-workers and managers.
• Ability to work overtime as needed is required.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Utilize equipment to perform plant cleaning operations (floor scrubbers, trash removal, equipment cleaning).
• Perform painting tasks throughout the plant or grounds.
• Operate forklifts/lifts to move materials.
• Assist in loading and unloading trucks.
• Support production receiving activities.
• Perform facilities upkeep including landscaping and snow removal.
• Conduct light equipment maintenance and cleaning tasks after training.
• May operate company vehicles after training and certification.
• Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
