Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Novi, MI is hiring a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to maintain and repair store facilities, equipment, and fixtures.

You will follow established schedules, perform inspections, and complete repairs to ensure safety and a welcoming environment for customers and associates. Working under the General Maintenance Manager, you will respond to maintenance requests, document activities, and participate in preventive tasks.

Qualifications

• 18 years or older.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Can lift up to 50 lbs. at a time.
• Can move up and down ladders frequently.
• Comfortable working at heights frequently.
• Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
• Hold a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the FMCSA, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets using multiple craft skills (plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment) and using hand tools and power tools.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair work orders and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect, operate, or test facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues.
• Complete all required training to operate equipment and tools safely.
