Job summary

Walmart is hiring a General Facilities Maintenance Technician to join the local store team in Algonquin, IL. The role focuses on routine maintenance, safety, and appearance of Walmart facilities, equipment, and fixtures, under the supervision of the General Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities include repairs across plumbing, electrical, carpentry and equipment, responding to work orders and emergencies, and staying compliant with safety training.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical certification and 2 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• :
• Option 2: 4 years’ experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related area.
• Valid state-issued driver’s license and ability to pass a motor vehicle report.
• Commercial driving record with no convictions for DUI, DWI, OUI within the last five (5) years.
• Commercial driving record with no more than two (2) moving violations in the last three (3) years.
• No preventable accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.
• No serious traffic violations, as defined by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the last three (3) years.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facilities, equipment, and assets by utilizing multiple craft skills (for example, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment) and using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to complete jobs.
• Utilize the work order management system to receive reactive repair Work Orders to support Stores and Store associates and document repair activities.
• Provide prompt response to emergency maintenance calls
• Inspecting, operating, or testing facilities, equipment, or fixtures to diagnose issues
• Complete all required training requirements to operate equipment and tools safely
