Job summary

Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) is hiring for a skilled maintenance technician to perform a variety of repair activities, operate equipment, and maintain buildings and grounds. The role requires independent judgment and works with a team of professionals across multiple campuses in Milwaukee.

The position is a full-time, first- or second-shift opportunity based in Downtown Milwaukee, Oak Creek, or Mequon campuses, with a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. and three (3) years of experience in building maintenance and repairs.
• Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
• Knowledge of heating, ventilating, refrigeration, electrical, water sewerage and control systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspects, repairs physical plant equipment.
• Operates and maintains boilers, valves, pumps, and related equipment.
• Repairs and replaces locks including removal, installation, and repair of cylinders.
• Operates and maintains air handling systems, air conditioning systems, and related equipment.
• Drives school vehicles; performs minor maintenance of vehicles as required.
• Removes snow, ice, and debris from walkways and parking areas.
• Maintains and tends outside grounds including mowing, watering, planting, trimming, and trees.
• Maintains and repairs indoor/outdoor lighting.
