Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support a high-volume battery production facility in Weirton, WV. The role focuses on keeping factory equipment and control systems running smoothly and safely, with hands-on maintenance and troubleshooting in a fast-paced environment.

You will use CMMS Maintain X and BAS software, work with PLCs and HMIs, and collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve issues and implement improvements.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical school diploma in Electrical, Controls, Automation, HVAC, or related field.
  • Experience with CMMS, SCADA, and PLC/HMI.
  • Electrical journeyman license or master electrician with 5+ years.
  • HVAC technician certification with 5+ years.
  • Water Operator license WV with 5+ years; Backflow certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years in manufacturing facilities maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety-focused, reliable facility support for equipment and controls systems.
  • Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and root-cause analysis on facilities equipment.
  • Proficiently use CMMS (Maintain X) to manage tasks and document findings.
  • Use Building Automation System software to monitor and diagnose facility controls.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems, including PLCs, HMIs, and control panels.
  • Read schematics/diagrams to repair electrical/mechanical systems.
  • Inspect boilers, chillers, HVAC, electrical systems, and safety systems; document issues.
  • Install facilities equipment and network wiring and data cabling as needed.
  • Support factory and engineering teams via CMMS requests and project work.
  • Participate in pre-task planning and stakeholder communication.

Role Description

This is an opportunity to have a direct and daily impact in an exciting American energy technology and manufacturing company. The Facilities Maintenance Technician is at the forefront of delivering top level support, being part of a service leading department.

In this role, we are looking for a Facilities Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing factory facilities equipment and control systems, as well as building operations. This person will be responsible for making sure our facilities equipment runs smoothly and will be supporting our technical operations. The ideal candidate will be able to independently execute day-to-day operations and maintenance activities as well as be willing to roll up their sleeves to quickly tackle facility service and repair issues. You will work closely with all members of the Form Energy team to contribute to sustaining a world class facility. The ideal candidate will bring a "can-do" attitude, and strong independent problem solving skills. Hands-on experience within computerized maintenance management software programs within manufacturing operations, or a start-up is preferred.

The schedule for this position is a 12 hour alternating work week schedule. A steady night turn position is available.

What you'll do:
  • Support a safe, reliable facility by providing exceptional customer service with all facility equipment and controls systems, as well as factory issues and needs.
  • Perform industrial equipment preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repair and root cause analysis on all facilities equipment when the need arises.
  • Become proficient with our Computerized Maintenance Management System, Maintain X to use it to perform tasks to complete work requests and record process findings of maintenance duties.
  • Become proficient using our Building Automation System software to monitor all factory controls systems connected, diagnose & correct faults with facility equipment. Troubleshoot as required.
  • Ensure facility automated equipment, with PLC's, HMI's and process control equipment is functioning as designed/required. Troubleshoot as required.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics, diagrams, and blueprints to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Perform inspections of equipment including, boilers, chillers, cooling towers, building HVAC equipment, air compressors, electrical systems, fire alarm & suppression systems, fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, first aid cabinets, AED, etc. Record, troubleshoot & correct findings as required.
  • Execute facility installations such as installing water distribution, equipment airlines, low volt electrical circuits, 120 volt up to 480 volt, 3 phase electrical circuits, data ethernet installations, including terminating into network cabinets.
  • Support manufacturing & engineering team members with related Facilities activities within the Factory including all work & service requests via Form's CMMS, Maintain X.
  • Participate in pre-task planning, coordination and communication with all Stakeholders.
What you’ll bring:
  • Associate Degree or Technical School Diploma with an applicable field of study. Electrical, Controls, Automation, HVAC, or other related Facility Technology.
  • Computerized CMMS, SCADA and tablet software experience. Equipment Controls experience with PLC & HMI functions.
  • An electrical journeyman’s license or master electrician with 5+ years of experience or equivalent. NFPA 70E training is a plus.
  • HVAC technician certification with 5+ years of experience.
  • Licensed Water Operator for West Virginia or equal state license, Class 1 or above. with 5+ years of experience. Backflow Prevention Inspection certification is a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment with a focus in facilities maintenance, troubleshooting equipment, installation of building systems utilities and great customer service.
  • Experience troubleshooting malfunctions within Complex Control Systems for Factory Utility Systems. Examples include: Process Cooling Towers, Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Fire Alarm Systems, Fire Suppression Systems, Electrical Power Emergency Generators, Battery Backup Centers, Security Camera Networks, Badge Door Access with Card Readers & Turnstiles systems. Major components include: HMI's, PLC's, Contactors, Motors, Pumps, Valves, Solenoids, Proximity, Flow, & Tamper Switches, & Air Dampers.

This role is based at Form Factory 1 in Weirton, WV- an easy commute from the city of Pittsburgh, PA. This 550,000-square-foot facility is our hub for high-volume battery production and a leader in the new era of American energy manufacturing.
