Job summary

First Responder Wellness is seeking a dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician for part-time work in Newport Beach, CA. You will support day-to-day upkeep, repair, and maintenance of residential and office facilities, while managing multiple maintenance needs across locations.

The role requires strong problem-solving, hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, and carpentry, and the ability to work independently. CPR/First Aid certification and a valid CA driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of general maintenance or handyman experience, including light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid California Driver's License in good standing.
• Livescan background clearance required for work in DSS-licensed facilities.
• CPR/First Aid certification required and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs across facilities.
• Conduct facility walk-throughs and complete work orders promptly.
• Perform preventive maintenance including HVAC filter changes and checks.
• Maintain safety equipment and report deficiencies.
• Move and set up furniture and equipment across locations.
• Maintain inventory and coordinate purchases with Operations Manager.
• Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized repairs.
• Respond to urgent maintenance needs, including after-hours as needed.
• Ensure facilities remain clean, safe, and in good repair.
• Perform other duties as requested.

First Responder Wellness is seeking a dependable, hands-on part-time Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and maintenance of our residential and office facilities.

This position is ideal for someone who takes pride in keeping facilities safe, functional, and well maintained; enjoys solving problems; and can work independently while managing multiple maintenance needs across locations.

What You'll Do

• Perform routine and emergency maintenance and repairs, including light plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repair.
• Conduct regular facility walk-throughs to identify maintenance needs and complete work orders in a timely manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance, including HVAC filter changes and fixture and appliance checks.
• Maintain fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and other basic safety equipment and report deficiencies.
• Move and set up furniture, equipment, tools, and supplies as needed across residential houses and offices.
• Maintain an inventory of tools, parts, and maintenance supplies and coordinate purchases with the Operations Manager.
• Assist with routine vehicle maintenance coordination for company vehicles.
• Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are needed.
• Respond to urgent facility maintenance issues, including occasional after-hours needs.
• Help ensure all facilities remain clean, safe, functional, and in good repair.
• Perform other duties as requested and required.
• High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
• At least two years of general maintenance or handyman experience, including light plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
• Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
• Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
• Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple work orders across locations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on position requiring the ability to:

• Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Occasionally handle heavier or bulky items with appropriate assistance or mechanical equipment.
• Climb, bend, kneel, reach, push, pull, and perform other physical tasks associated with facility maintenance.
