Job summary

Kowalski Companies is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our Hamtramck, MI team onsite. You will inspect, troubleshoot, and repair production equipment and building systems, with hands-on expertise in HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, and electrical work.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, rapid response to maintenance requests, coordinating with vendors, and safely operating facility equipment.

Qualifications

• Requires experience in industrial, manufacturing, or facilities maintenance.
• High School Diploma or equivalent; trade‑related training is a plus.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical systems.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests from plant staff and management.

• Coordinate with outside vendors for specialized maintenance or repairs.
• Operate forklifts and other facility equipment safely.
• Read and follow schematics, prints, and technical instructions to complete tasks independently.

• Typically 8–9-hour shifts
