Job summary

MedVet is the largest network of emergency and specialty veterinary hospitals. We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain facilities across the Dallas area, including Dallas, Grapevine, and Frisco.

You will work with the Facilities Manager and clinical teams to ensure building and equipment maintenance, fire/safety compliance, and timely project execution. Role requires hands-on repair skills, experience with power tools, and familiarity with EMS and CMMS systems.

Qualifications

• Experience with power tools
• Familiarity with automated building systems (EMS) is a plus
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• Experience using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) and help desk systems is a plus

Responsibilities

• Supports MedVet sites for facilities-related needs.
• Maintains open communication with all levels of the organization and handles requests and issues promptly.
• Acknowledges requests within 24 hours and communicates status and resolution time.
• Manages projects from definition through execution (retrofits, remodels, or equipment installs).
• Oversees inspections, safety systems, and inventory; maintains fire and life safety systems.

As a Maintenance Technician you will focus on performing repairs and overall maintenance of MedVet's facilities in the Dallas area ( Dallas, Grapevine, Frisco). Work collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Operations and Real Estate team, and Clinical team to provide building and equipment maintenance oversight and project management.

• Supports MedVet sites for facilities related needs.
• Develops and maintains a responsive, open line of communication with all levels of the organization, including but not limited to handling complaints, conflict resolution, operational considerations such as fire and life safety system testing.
• Ensure requests are acknowledged within 24 hours, prioritized based on other requests/projects, and proactively communicates status of ticket and resolution time.
• Completes and/or delegates project tasks submitted.
• Manage assigned projects from definition to execution. Projects could vary from small retrofits, remodel, and/or equipment installation.
• Accountable for completion of inspections of the interior/exterior of the building and follows up on any deficiencies noted.
• Maintains all fire and life safety systems according to local code and in a way that always protects clients and employees.
• Manage and oversee any equipment or asset inventory.
• Oversee the following areas:
• Facilities equipment maintenance
• Facilities service providers
• Facilities safety
• Facilities small projects
• Provide facilities related on-call support.
• MedVet provides all tools to complete job assignments.
• 50% travel required to MedVet locations in the DFW area: (Dallas, Grapevine, and Frisco)

• Appropriately demonstrate acumen to support the operations and the day-to-day operation of maintenance functions.
• Hands-on experience to perform building repair tasks and small, medium, and large projects with high level of quality.
• Previous experience using power tools required.
• Familiarity and comfort with automated building systems, EMS ("Energy Management Systems") and other enterprise software systems is a plus.
• Experience using Microsoft Office programs.
• Previous experience using computer management maintenance software and help desk systems a plus.

Compensation is based on experience and will range from $25-30hr.
