Job summary

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Sr Facilities Maintenance Technician to support maintenance, repair, and operation of facility systems and production equipment at the Coherent Budd Lake facility.

You will work with Operations, Engineering, Production, and EH&S teams to ensure equipment reliability, uptime, and a safe work environment. Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, documenting activities, and coordinating with contractors.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college/technical education preferred.
• Technical school training, trade certification, or equivalent hands-on experience required.
• 8+ years of industrial maintenance, facilities maintenance, or manufacturing equipment experience.
• CFC Universal EPA 608 Certification.
• Experience working in a manufacturing environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on facility and production equipment according to established schedules.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and assist in restoring equipment to service.
• Document maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment issues in the maintenance tracking system.
• Assist with facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
• Coordinate with outside contractors and service providers as directed.
• Support HVAC, compressed air, chilled water, RO water, and other building utility systems.
• Assist with equipment moves, setup, and rigging activities.
• Maintain maintenance tools, spare parts, and supplies.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies.
• Support EH&S requirements, including proper handling and disposal of waste materials.
• Assist production and R&D teams with equipment maintenance and repairs as needed.

Education And Experience

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Basic knowledge of HVAC systems, including RTUs and AHUs.
• Experience with industrial cooling and chilled water systems.
• Familiarity with compressed air systems and distribution equipment.
• Understanding of RO water systems and industrial utility systems.
• Basic knowledge of UPS systems, generators, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and maintenance test equipment safely.
• Ability to read equipment manuals, drawings, and maintenance procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
