Job summary

Medtronic seeks an Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, repair and inspect electrical systems across multiple Massachusetts facilities, including manufacturing, laboratory, and office environments.

You will work with Facilities, EHS, Engineering and contractors to ensure safe, reliable operations and minimize downtime across the MA Hub sites.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of Facilities/Electrician experience.
  • Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License.
  • Strong knowledge of NEC, OSHA requirements, and electrical safety standards including LOTO and arc flash protection.
  • Experience using a CMMS system (eMaint, Maximo, SAP, or equivalent) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and asset history.

Responsibilities

  • Performs repairs and maintenance in plant or office facilities, or on machines and equipment.
  • Typically performs work in one or more of the maintenance trades: carpentry, plumbing, painting, machine and equipment repair, electrical, sheet metal fabrication, and welding.
  • Conducts routine, periodic, or special inspections to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipment.
  • Uses hand and power tools.
  • Tests, inspects, troubleshoots, and repairs machines and equipment.
  • Uses blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications.

A Day in the Life

The Electrician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and inspection of electrical systems and equipment across multiple Massachusetts facilities, including manufacturing, laboratory, office, and critical infrastructure environments. This role supports day-to-day operations, preventive maintenance activities, capital projects, and emergency response efforts to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant facility operations.

The Electrician will work closely with Facilities, EHS, Engineering, and external contractors to maintain electrical distribution systems, support equipment reliability initiatives, and minimize downtime across the Massachusetts Hub sites.

Must Haves

  • 5+ years of Facilities/Electrician experience
  • Valid Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician License
  • Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA requirements, and electrical safety standards including LOTO and arc flash protection
  • Experience using a CMMS system (eMaint, Maximo, SAP, or equivalent) to document work orders, maintenance activities, and asset history

Nice to Have

  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally with technicians, contractors, engineers, and site customers
  • Knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls platforms such as Siemens, Johnson Controls, Schneider Electric, or Honeywell
  • Familiarity with cleanroom protocols or ISO-classified environments
  • Experience supporting medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, cleanroom, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 8 cleanrooms and critical environmental systems
  • OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$69,600.00 - $104,400.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance,Health Savings Account,Healthcare Flexible Spending Account,Life insurance, Long-term disability leave,Dependent daycare spending account,Tuition assistance/reimbursement, andSimple Steps (global well-being program).
