Job summary

Wenger Corporation seeks a Facilities Maintenance Engineering Supervisor to lead maintenance operations and support facility infrastructure in a dynamic manufacturing setting. You will ensure equipment reliability, safety, and efficiency while directing a team of maintenance technicians.

You will need a technical degree and 5+ years in maintenance/manufacturing engineering, plus 2+ years of leadership. CMMS and MS Office experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and facility systems.
• Experience managing maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven ability to manage teams and vendor relationships.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train, coach, and develop a team of five Maintenance Technicians. Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and professional development opportunities.
• Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, continuous improvement, and customer service.
• Coordinate work assignments and resources to support production and facility needs.
• Promote and lead an exceptional safety culture by ensuring compliance with OSHA standards (LOTO, electrical safety, machine guarding, etc.).
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues and provide guidance to staff.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze equipment failures and downtime trends to identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain CMMS documentation and serve as after-hours contact for emergencies.

As a Facilities Maintenance Engineering Supervisor, you will contribute to Wenger Corporation's strategy to provide exceptional customer experience by leading maintenance operations and facility infrastructure support within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of manufacturing equipment and facility systems while leading a team of maintenance technicians.

At minimum, you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Facilities Engineering or related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered toward the educational requirements.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance, facilities, or manufacturing engineering experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and facility systems.
• Experience managing maintenance programs and capital projects.
• Proficiency with CMMS software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven ability to manage teams and vendor relationships.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

It'd be great if you also have:

• Strong knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems and troubleshooting.
• Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), PMP, or related certification.
• Experience with energy maintenance and sustainability programs.
• OSHA safety training and regulatory compliance experience, for example: OSHA, ISO standards, and LOTO procedures.
• Experience with metal/wood fabrication equipment, CNCs, welding robots and paint systems.
• Experience in a lean manufacturing environment.

A typical day might include:

Leadership & Team Development

Safety & Compliance

• Promote and lead an exceptional safety culture by ensuring compliance with and exceeding OSHA safety standards in all areas, including: lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, machine guarding, fall protection, confined space, contractor safety, etc.
• Serve as a visible safety leader in all maintenance and facility-related activities.
• Participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, safety audits, and corrective action implementation.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and corporate sustainability initiatives.

Maintenance Operations

• Plan, schedule, and prioritize preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and control system issues while providing technical guidance to maintenance staff.
• Develop and continuously improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Analyze equipment failures and downtime trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain appropriate documentation of repairs, preventive maintenance activities, work orders, and compliance records within the CMMS system.
• Serve as the primary after-hours contact for maintenance and facility emergencies, as required.
• Perform weekend facility and equipment checks, periodically as part of the maintenance team on-call rotation.

Facilities Management

• Maintain and monitor facility systems including: HVAC, Compressed air, Electrical distribution, Plumbing, Lighting, Fire protection and General building infrastructure and implement improvements that enhance safety, reliability, energy efficiency, and occupant comfort.
• Coordinate third-party contractors for facility maintenance, equipment servicing, janitorial services, inspections, and special projects.
• Ensure all facility systems comply with regulatory and operational requirements.

Capital Projects & Engineering Support

• Support capital improvement projects through planning, budgeting, contractor coordination, rigging activities, equipment installation, and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and Production teams to support equipment upgrades and process improvements.
• Assist with equipment selection, specification development, and project execution.
• Manage maintenance project timelines and resources to ensure successful implementation.

Inventory & Asset Management

• Manage inventory levels of maintenance parts, consumables, supplies, and tools.
• Establish inventory controls and optimize spare parts management to support equipment uptime while controlling costs.
• Maintain asset records, equipment histories, and maintenance documentation.

Continuous Improvement

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing equipment reliability, reducing downtime, and improving maintenance effectiveness.
• Utilize Lean Manufacturing and root cause analysis methodologies to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, energy conservation, and process optimization.
• Develop and track key maintenance performance indicators to drive operational excellence.
