Job summary

Cedar Crest at North Florida in Gainesville, FL seeks a qualified Director of Maintenance to lead the Maintenance Department, plan and direct operations for safety and comfort. You will build a team, establish preventative programs, and ensure compliance with standards across the facility.

The role emphasizes hands-on maintenance leadership, safety, and process improvements to support resident care and family-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school education or its equivalent.
• A secondary degree from an accredited vocational or technical school preferred.
• Must have at least three years' supervisory experience in a maintenance/plant position.
• Knowledge of boilers, compressors, generators, and related mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
• You must be qualified, compassionate, and dedicated to a job well done.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan with defined tasks and timelines.
• Establish an equipment and utilities management program.
• Hire, train, and supervise maintenance technicians.
• Participate in regular safety inspections and document findings.
• Provide facility-wide safety training and chair the Safety Committee.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on building grounds.
• Ensure supplies and equipment support a safe, comfortable environment.
• Introduce innovative ideas to improve systems and processes.
