Qualifications

  • Must be able to effectively train personnel.
  • Must be able to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to use electronic test equipment.
  • Must possess an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and electrical.
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer.
  • Must be able to obtain required equipment certification such as PIT, Genie Boom.
  • Industrial Certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain air compressors, refrigeration systems, and HVAC components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical distribution, VFDs, and controls; read schematics.
  • Read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks using hand/power tools and test equipment.
  • Maintain safety practices and report hazards; on-call willingness.
  • Communicate maintenance information and document in SAP or similar system.

SUMMARY

Responsible for performing tasks and providing services to support the plant's overall business plans and objectives as directed for the plant.

Your Role in Unpacking Possibilities
GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures of Amcor to provide for a safe and healthful workplace. Work in a safe manner at all times and report any unsafe conditions to your supervisor in order that the situation can be corrected. Report all accidents and near misses in a timely manner when they occur.
  • Maintain proper ergonomics at all times when performing assigned tasks.
  • To meet and maintain all customer quality standards as well as the standards of Amcor.
  • Meet daily production goals and departmental objectives as directed.
  • Clean all assigned work areas after completion of the required work, return all tools to proper storage area at the end of the shift and report any malfunctioning equipment. This includes applying Good Manufacturing Practices to meet plant goals. Reports daily on Master Cleaning Schedule.
  • Direct all non-conforming parts to the appropriate reprocess area.
  • Maintains standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurately records production. Communicates production information at shift change.
  • Maintain proper radio etiquette when using company radios, PA system and/or phone, business use only.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

(technician typically have their assigned department to support but can be moved as needed for support and training)

  • Air Compressors- reciprocating, screw, and centrifugal
  • Refrigeration - Chillers, pumps, tank and tankless distribution systems
  • HVAC System's and troubleshooting.
  • Electrical Maintenance - Troubleshooting VFD's, controls, and 480v electrical distribution systems
  • Programmable Logic Controller basic knowledge preferred, Electronics - Able to use SCADA for data collection and monitoring. Experience in use of following systems desired - SAP, IZ Systems.
  • Building Maintenance - plumbing (copper, steel, PVC) , building repair, housekeeping
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints
  • Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot and repair production and/or facility equipment
  • Willingness to be "on-call" during off hours and weekends
  • Desire to learn and develop within the maintenance field

Knowledge/Skills/Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
  • Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to read, write and understand English.
  • Electro mechanic or mechanical certification preferred

  • Must be able to use basic hand and power tools.
  • Must be able to use electronic test equipment.
  • Must possess an interest in and an aptitude for mechanics, electronics, and electrical.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to operate and functionally use a computer
  • Must be able to work at heights
  • Must be able to obtain required equipment certification such as PIT, Genie Boom
  • Industrial Certificate preferred but not required
  • Supplies own tools sufficient to perform maintenance tasks in the disciplines of the scope needed to perform assigned duties. This includes basic electrical test tools, industrial hand tools, air tools, hand tools, plumbing tools, welding tools, and specialty tools needed for specific job tasks in blow molding, injection, and mold repair / maintenance. Must also supply own toolbox to adequately secure tools
  • Ability to communicate using e-mail systems, build and maintain Excel spreadsheets, develop training documents in PowerPoint, and write reports using Word. Ability to use SAP or other maintenance tracking software.
  • Prior formal training and 3 - 5 years in facility maintenance trades
  • Previous project management experience acting as liaison with vendors and contractors.
  • HVAC/refrigeration certification preferred
