Responsibilities

• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on molding presses, grinding machines, ECM cut-off saws, electric motors, electropolishing equipment, automatic cleaning systems, gluing stations, metal-forming equipment, packaging equipment, and other manufacturing assets.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC-controlled, and VFD-controlled equipment using observations, diagrams, manuals, specs, and safe diagnostic methods.
• Locate sources of equipment failures; dismantle, repair, align, adjust, and replace defective components using hoists, hand tools, power tools, test instruments, calipers, micrometers, levels, and straightedges.
• Verify that replacement parts, controls, dimensions, alignments, safeguards, and equipment functions meet specifications before returning equipment to service.
• Complete general facilities upkeep and repair, including HVAC, compressors, filters, electrical support, lighting, plumbing, doors, waste systems, and building repairs.
• Perform routine inspections of facilities and equipment; identify problems, initiate work orders, elevate risk, and support corrective action.
• Coordinate planned maintenance and repair status with production, facilities, engineering, quality, EHS, and other groups to minimize downtime and ensure safe operations.

The position supports production uptime, product quality, safe operations, and regulatory readiness through disciplined maintenance practices, accurate documentation, emergency response, and compliance with applicable SOP, GMP, safety, environmental, hazardous-material, RCRA, and DOT requirements.

Essential Functions

• Complete preventive and corrective maintenance on molding presses, grinding machines, ECM cut-off saws, electric motors, electropolishing equipment, automatic cleaning systems, gluing stations, metal-forming equipment, packaging equipment, and other manufacturing assets.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, PLC-controlled, and VFD-controlled equipment using operating observations, equipment history, diagrams, manuals, engineering specifications, precision instruments, and safe diagnostic methods.
• Locate sources of equipment failures; dismantle, repair, align, adjust, and replace defective components using hoists, hand tools, power tools, test instruments, rulers, calipers, micrometers, levels, plumb bobs, straightedges, and other appropriate tools.
• Verify that replacement parts, controls, dimensions, alignments, safeguards, and equipment functions meet specifications before returning equipment to service.
• Complete general facilities upkeep and repair, including HVAC units and ancillaries, compressors, mist collectors, HEPA filters, plumbing, heating and cooling, electrical support, lighting, doors, grounds, waste systems, chemical or specialty-gas dispensing systems, construction/renovation support, painting, basic metalwork, fabrication, oil changes, and building repairs.
• Perform routine inspections of facilities, utilities, safety-related building conditions, and equipment; identify problems, initiate work orders, elevate risk, and support timely corrective action.
• Coordinate planned maintenance and repair status with production, facilities, engineering, quality, EHS, and other affected groups to control downtime and protect safe operations.
• Maintain accurate work orders, preventive-maintenance records, machine history, inspection results, repair notes, parts usage, inventory levels, and purchase requests.
• Monitor spare-parts and maintenance-supply inventory; anticipate needs; support sourcing, ordering, expediting, receipt verification, and appropriate storage.
• Handle, monitor, inventory, and dispose of hazardous chemicals and maintenance-related waste only as authorized and trained, following labels, SDS information, internal procedures, RCRA/DOT requirements, and environmental controls.
• Assist with emergency response activities, including facility alarms, equipment incidents, spills, utility failures, employee incidents, ambulatory assistance, and other assigned response responsibilities within the employee’s training.
• Maintain a safe, clean, orderly work area and use required PPE, machine guarding, energy-control/lockout-tagout practices, permits, fall protection, lifting methods, and hazard-assessment controls as applicable.
• Engage qualified vendors or contractors as directed; communicate scope, escort requirements, site rules, permits, safety expectations, and completion documentation.
• Maintain technical knowledge through manufacturer materials, technical publications, training, equipment qualification, and required internal SOP, GMP, safety, RCRA, DOT, hazardous-chemical, and environmental training.
• Perform other duties as assigned consistent with the general nature and level of the position.
