Job Summary

EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a Facility Maintenance Technician in Sarasota, FL. The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR Site Lead and support him to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities are to maintain the landscaping of the facility and ensure open access to the various well sites throughout the neighborhood of the facility along with the maintenance and repairs of the facility and equipment. Knowledge of and capable to perform general type maintenance and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 1 to 3 years of hands on experience in facilities and grounds maintenance dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Communicates effectively with Site Lead to determine service needs.
• Coordinates and supervises client sub-contractors while performing service on site.
• Capable of working outdoors in high temperatures mowing all grass areas and accessing well extraction sites throughout the neighborhood, trimming decorative grass and weed control of the artificial turf area.
• Minor janitorial cleaning of sinks, restroom fixtures, kitchen area and security areas.
• General building maintenance skills as needed.
• Performs a wide variety of preventive and corrective maintenance work requests such as pressure washing the perimeter wall, PM’s, filter changes, landscape equipment repairs, etc.

Qualifications

• Education: HS Diploma
• Experience: 1–3 years of experience related to facility maintenance.
• Languages: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of organization.
• Licenses/Certifications: Valid US driver’s license

Technical Qualifications & Skills

• Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.
• Customer service and communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry and furniture repair skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete a variety of general maintenance type tasks assigned.
• Basic use of computer skills for reporting, researching and effective communication.
• Ability to operate various types of landscaping equipment.
• Time management skills to coordinate and supervise the client sub-contractors while on site and manage to complete the daily routine tasks assigned.

Physical Demands

The ability to lift 40lbs, work outdoors in escalated temperatures at times, climb ladders, perform office moves and ability to walk the facility throughout the day are required.

Work Environment

The work environment is a water treatment facility that we maintain. Most of the work performed in this position is outdoors most of the day. Positive attitude and excellent customer service skills are a must.
