Responsibilities

  • Serves as Facilities Laborer.
  • Operates equipment such as pallet jacks, dol­lies, hand tools, ladders, power carts, stackers, etc.
  • Assists with moves of facilities.
  • Delivers and checks quantity and quality of paper supplies to ensure paper is available to all offices.
  • Performs scanning of property control as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required within the scope of duties enumerated above.

Position Overview

The Illinois Department of Children and Family Services is seeking an organized, professional, and results oriented individual to serve as Facilities Laborer. Essential Functions
  • Serves as Facilities Laborer
  • Operates various types of equipment, such as pallet jacks, dollies, hand tools, ladders, power carts, stackers, postage meter, duplicating equipment, faxing and copying machinery, etc.
  • Assists with moves of facilities
  • Delivers and checks quantity and quality of paper supplies to ensure paper is available to all offices
  • Performs scanning of property control on an as-needed basis
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumeratedabove.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of high school
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in a public or business organization performing facility moves of office furniture, equipment, etc. fromone work site to another
  • 2 years of experience conducting inventories of facilities for a public or business organization
  • 2 years of experience in a public or business organization exercising basic knowledge of building maintenance equipment use and care in the performance of duties
Conditions of Employment
  • Requires ability to pass a background check
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license
  • This position is considered heavy work as defined by the U.S. Department of Labor (20 CFR 404.1567(d). Heavy work involves lifting no more than 100 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Requires ability to use hand tools, power stacker, dollies, carts, and power jacks
  • Requires ability to perform basic repairs to facilities
