Job summary

Grand Central Bakery seeks a dependable Janitor 1 to keep the facility and grounds clean, sanitary, and compliant with health codes. The role may involve driving company vehicles to multiple Grand Central Bakery locations when qualified.

The position is full-time with weekend work required and a comprehensive benefits package. Major responsibilities include cleaning tasks, equipment maintenance support, and ensuring safety and cleanliness across bakery and café operations.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Working knowledge of and ability to speak and understand basic English required
• Maintains a valid Food Handler's Card
• Regular attendance and ability to work scheduled days/shifts including weekends and holidays
• Basic math skills
• To drive: valid Oregon or Washington license with 5 years driving experience and clean driving record
• Follows Driver Safety Manual policies and may require a company driving test
• Ability to work independently with high autonomy and adapt to changing task-lists

Responsibilities

• Perform daily cleaning tasks such as sweeping and mopping
• Dust and clean vertical surfaces, ducts, and high areas
• Empty trash and recycling containers
• Wash and document laundry usage at the location
• Provide ongoing project landscaping as directed
• Support equipment maintenance including repairs or installations
• Maintain or install on-site equipment like ovens, dishwashers, mixers, freezers
• If qualified, drive and transport equipment and supplies to Grand Central Bakery locations
• Adhere to Grand Central Bakery mission, values, and promote respectful team collaboration
• Deliver excellent customer service and follow the three-step service approach
• Report hazards and injuries promptly and comply with safety requirements
