Job summary

Goodwill Legacy Group in Indianapolis is seeking a Facilities & Grounds Technician to maintain and repair equipment, buildings, and grounds across all facilities.

You will perform preventive maintenance, manage work orders in CMMS, and relocate or install as needed, with a strong emphasis on safety and customer service.

The role requires hands-on carpentry, basic electrical and plumbing skills, and the ability to work with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoots, repairs, and completes routine maintenance of facilities and grounds at Goodwill locations.
  • Travels to off-site locations for grounds services and routine maintenance such as painting, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation.
  • Disassembles mechanical equipment, replaces worn parts, and reassembles; inspects repairs.
  • Operates basic hand and power tools and follows safety procedures.
  • Updates work orders in CMMS and communicates with management and contractors.
  • Cross-trains and assists in other areas to build skill base.
  • Maintains training requirements and seeks development opportunities.

Pay starts at $19/hr. and includes full benefits (below).*****The Facilities & Grounds Technician maintains and repairs equipment, buildings, and physical grounds throughout all the facilities operated by Goodwill Legacy Group. The Technician performs general repairs, preventive maintenance, relocations, and installations while continuously focusing on quality, safety, customer relations, and performance. The Technician ensures the accurate data input and completion of assigned work orders through the department's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).****Example Duties and Activities***** Troubleshoots, repairs, and completes routine maintenance of facility and physical grounds at all Goodwill locations to ensure a safe and productive work environment, certify product quality, guarantee customer satisfaction, and promote continuous improvement.* Travels to off-site locations by company service vehicle to perform grounds services and routine maintenance, including painting, carpentry, plumbing, basic electrical, and furniture relocation.* Disassembles mechanical equipment and tools, repairs or replaces worn or broken parts, and reassembles. Adjusts parts of mechanical devices as needed. Inspects completed repairs.
