Job summary

Alaska Railroad Corporation is seeking general labor for the Facilities Department during the summer season. Work includes painting, power washing, landscaping, and cleaning of section houses and railroad buildings across the rail belt; travel 2-3 days per week may be required.

You will operate basic tools, follow safety rules, and maintain a clean work site with minimal supervision. A valid driver's license is required; prior maintenance experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Must have knowledge of general home and building repair.
• Experience with power washers, weed whackers, and lawnmowers.
• Incumbent must be able to perform traditional maintenance activities.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• Travel for days at a time may be required.

Responsibilities

• Performs painting, power washing, landscaping and general cleaning of section houses and other railroad buildings.
• Sweeps parking lots and sidewalks; maintains equipment and work area per safety procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
• Work may involve walking, climbing, lifting up to 75 pounds and travel.
