Job summary

The Indian Health Service is seeking a Laborer to provide diverse maintenance duties at the Regional Treatment Centers, Maintenance Department. The role includes cleaning, minor renovations, lawn care, and moving equipment, with a strict safety and physical effort component.

Responsibilities include operating cleaning equipment, performing grounds work, and assisting with routine facility upkeep. A REAL ID will be required starting May 7, 2025, for compliance with federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Performs general maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, hanging pictures, moving furniture and equipment.
• Cleans various areas in and around the clinic and maintenance sites, including floors and grilles.
• PHYSICAL EFFORT: very heavy physical effort; lifting over 75 pounds and maneuvering with pallet jacks and carts.
• WORKING CONDITIONS: exposed to weather, temperature extremes, noise, dust and dirt; inside and outside work.
• REAL ID requirement beginning May 7, 2025 in accordance with 6 C.F.R. 37.5 (2021).

Responsibilities

• Performs general maintenance tasks such as replacing ceiling tiles, hanging pictures, moving furniture and equipment.
• Uses high pressure washer to clean areas and equipment; utilizes lift and pallet jack.
• Performs grounds maintenance such as mowing, tilling, edging, tree/shrub work and lawn watering.
• Cleans clinic and maintenance areas, delivers supplies and reports problems.
• Operates cleaning equipment and performs routine maintenance on equipment.
