Job summary

BWX Technologies, Inc. in Erwin, Tennessee, is seeking a Facilities Support Engineering Unit Manager to direct and support professional engineering staff in technical reviews, designs, cost estimates, and project schedules for engineering programs and facilities projects.

You will drive continuous improvement, standardization, and best practices while developing procedures, monitoring compliance, and aligning resources to execute facility improvements.

Qualifications

• B.S. in engineering or technical field required.
• Ten years of experience required; PMP or project management experience preferred.
• Nuclear industry experience preferred.

Position Overview:

Direct and support subordinate professional engineering personnel in the performance of technical reviews, designs, cost estimates, operational support, project management, maintenance support and schedules associated with engineering programs and facilities projects.

Location:

On-site in Erwin, Tennessee.

Your Day to Day as a Facilities Support Engineering Unit Manager

1. Provide direction and leadership to NFS Facilities Engineering Support staff.
2. Drive continuous improvement, standardization, best practices, administrative organization, and professional development.
3. Develop, implement, monitor, and ensure compliance with NFS Facilities and Engineering procedures and methodologies.
4. Assist personnel in problem solving, communications, setting priorities, and conflict resolution. Work across the NFs staff to identify, develop, and implement actions to improve performance and reduce costs.
5. Manage cost center budget and assist staff in aligning resources to effectively execute facility improvements.
6. Execute other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Facilities Management Section Manager or Facilities Director.

Required Qualifications:

• B. S. -- Engineering or Technical degree.
• Ten years' experience required. PMP or project management experience preferred. Experience in nuclear industry preferred.

Pay: $ 115,000 - $ 180,000

The base salary range for this position in Tennessee (US-TN) at the start of employment is expected to be between $115,000 and $180,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
