Job summary

City of Canton is seeking a Facilities Engineer to support the Water Reclamation Facility (WRF). The role involves planning, design and construction of facility projects, and acting as the technical liaison with outside entities.

Responsibilities include budgeting, rate studies, and ensuring compliance with state and federal standards; the ideal candidate will lead in projects that improve wastewater treatment and system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in sanitary engineering, civil engineering, environmental engineering, mechanical engineering or a related field with extensive professional engineering experience.
• Current registration as a Professional Engineer in Ohio is required; PE certification in good standing.
• Wastewater experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist WRF Superintendent in planning, design and construction of department projects.
• Prepare preliminary engineering reports, detailed construction plans, specifications, and construction management.
• Oversee plant process control, energy use optimization, asset management, and preventive maintenance.
• Budgeting, rate studies, and preparing loan/grant applications for WRF.
• Collaborate with other city departments and agencies; liaison with OH EPA and professional organizations.
• Represent WRF before City Council and professional groups; participate in meetings and training.
