Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding seeks a journeyman Engineer to ensure proper repairs, operation, and maintenance of the hospital's facilities, including refrigeration, HVAC, electrical systems (standby generators & ATS), piping, and medical gas equipment. You will report to the Director/Manager Plant Operations.

Responsibilities include inspecting the physical plant, recording readings, handling routine service calls, prioritizing work, conducting fire-safety testing, and participating in fire

Qualifications

• Journeyman trade level status required.
• Three years or recent facility experience in operation and maintenance of a physical plant.
• Healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the physical plant, equipment and grounds; record temperature, pressure and voltage readings.
• Complete procedures within schedule limits with follow-up on deficiencies.
• Perform routine service calls and work requests within schedule limits.
• Prioritize work within department scheduling standards.
• Test and repair fire systems and equipment per regulatory standards.
• Participate in fire drills.
