Job summary

Crescent Energy is seeking a Facilities Engineer to plan, design, optimize, and maintain upstream production facilities across assets. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, reliable operations and support production optimization initiatives.

You will collaborate with field operations, production engineers, and maintenance to drive performance, reduce downtime, and ensure compliance with API, ASME, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering related to oil and gas.
  • 8+ years experience in oil & gas production facilities or chemical processing.
  • PE or API/ASME certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with field ops to optimize facility safety and uptime.
  • Design production facilities: separators, tanks, pumps, piping, and instrumentation.
  • Lead HAZOPs and PSSRs for new facilities or modifications.
  • Create AFEs for modifications and maintenance projects.
  • Lead facility reviews with engineers and maintenance teams.
  • Monitor capital spending and facility costs against budget.
  • Diagnose failures and develop engineering solutions.
  • Identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.

Facilities Engineer will play a vital role within theDevelopment andOperations teams. The engineer will beresponsible for theplanning,design, optimization, and integrity of upstream oil and gas production facilities across our assets. This position will collaborate closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient facility operations while maintaining strong communication with field operations and supporting production optimization initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with field operations team to optimize facilitysafety,performance, maximize uptime, and reduce operational disruptions.
  • Design and specify production facilities including separators, tanks, pumps, compressors, and associated piping and instrumentation
  • Participate in and lead HAZOPs andparticipate inPSSRsfor new facilities and modifications.
  • Create AFE’s for facility modifications, equipment upgrades, tie-ins, and maintenance projects.
  • Lead regularly scheduled facility reviews with field operations, production engineers, and maintenance teams.
  • Track and monitor capital spending and facility-related costs to meet budget targets and KPI’s.
  • Diagnose rootcauseof facility and equipment failures, develop engineering solutions, evaluate economics, execute procedures, and perform lookbacks to improve systematic and recurring issues.
  • Monitor facility performance and conduct surveillance to identify bottlenecks, debottlenecking opportunities, and optimization projects to maximize asset value.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSE, regulatory, and environmental requirements including API, ASME, and state/federal regulations.
  • Support permitting activities and interface with regulatory agencies as needed.
  • Benchmarking facility performance to competitors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Anticipate travelto field locations as projects demand.
Required Experience & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or Civil Engineering or related field of study
  • At leasteight (8) years of experience in the Oil & Gas Production Facilities or Chemical Process Industry
  • Professional Engineer (PE), Association for Facilities Engineering (AFE), American Petroleum Institute (API), American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), or related certifications
  • Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record (MVR) that meet Company’s Insurance qualifications to operate Company vehicle
  • Strong problem-solving skills, analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Knowledge of facility design principles and industry association best practices, process flow diagrams, P&IDs, hydraulic analysis, and process modeling software.
  • Understanding of upstream oil and gas separation equipment, artificial lift systems, and gathering systems.

  • Solid understanding of well pad design, process flow diagrams, P&ID, equipment and piping drawings
  • Proficiency and skill with engineering systems and applications, such as Engineering modeling programs
  • Thorough knowledge of oil and gas engineering and safety obligations
  • Able to prioritize and manage multiple projects, adhering to strict deadlines
  • High degree of initiative and independent judgment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Able to work effectively with cross functional groups in solving business problems
  • Computer skills; spreadsheet and project management software capabilities
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively communicatewithmanagement and across field and office peers
  • Ability to identify issues, troubleshoot, and develop solutions
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships, and foster and encourage teamwork
  • Ability to safely operate vehicles, equipment, and tools
  • Able to recognize and apply safety processes and procedures
