Job summary

Los Angeles Unified School District is seeking an Assistant Facilities Development Manager to support pre-construction activities for new and modernization projects. You will assist in planning, scope development, and coordination with design teams and district partners throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires a bachelor’s in a related field and four years of relevant experience, plus a California driver’s license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture, or related field.
Four years of full-time, paid professional experience in pre-construction or facilities planning.
Valid California driver's license and ability to operate a vehicle.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and coordinating pre-construction activities for new or modernized school facilities.
Support project schedules, cost control, issue resolution, and quality control.
Monitor project status and budget variances; assist with real property issues.
Coordinate pre-construction programs with other district branches and departments.
Help resolve conflicts and optimize asset surveying, redevelopment, and modernization efforts.
Review and implement policy and procedural improvements at the program level.
Coordinate with utilities and government agencies to maintain project timelines.
Assist with bid specifications, documents for interim housing, demolition, and surveys.
Review payment submissions and support fiscal management of multiple projects.
