Job summary

Appalachia Intermediate Unit 8 is seeking a custodial/maintenance worker to ensure a safe, clean, and presentable environment for staff. The role covers daily cleaning, floor care, window and surface cleaning, and general upkeep across multiple building areas.

Applicants should be able to follow safety procedures, work with minimal supervision, and adapt to a flexible schedule while maintaining timely attendance and cooperative relations with colleagues.

Qualifications

• Must be familiar with custodial/maintenance equipment and procedures.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and work unsupervised.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule and meet timelines.

Responsibilities

• Daily trash pickup and cleaning duties.
• Vacuuming, floor stripping, polishing, and mopping.
• Cleaning bathrooms and dusting surfaces.
• Cleaning windows, furniture, and meeting rooms as required.
• Winter/summer cleaning and light maintenance tasks.
