Job summary

Substitute Teacher Service PA seeks a Custodian/Grounds/Plant Maintenance professional to perform custodial and grounds maintenance across district facilities. Responsibilities include cleaning/restrooms, light maintenance, setup for events, and safety inspections; daily reassignment may occur based on school needs.

Applicants must provide required clearances (Act 34/151, FBI) within five years, plus TB test, references, resume and direct deposit details.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma (Not required for Ephrata)
• A Pennsylvania Criminal Records check (Act 34) that is clean and less than 5 years old
• A Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) that is clean and less than 5 years old
• A FBI Criminal History Record that is clean and less than 5 years old
• Proof of a TB test or chest x-ray that is less than 3 months
• 3 professional references (contact information) and/or letters
• A Resume
• Routing number and account number for direct deposit setup
• 2 Valid forms of Identification for I-9.

Responsibilities

• Report to the Custodian Lead who is responsible for the direction of janitorial services.
• Can work cooperatively with others and/or work independently without supervision
• Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures along with refilling restroom dispensers.
• Sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; clean, dust and wipe furniture.
• Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
• Light maintenance duties (ex. replace light bulbs)
• Ability to use basic maintenance tools and machinery.
• Conducts a wide variety of ground maintenance to playgrounds, sports turf, fencing, paving and snow removal.
• Notify the administration of any potential safety dangers on school grounds.
• Other duties may be required that are not enumerated here that are part of the custodian’s duties.
