Job summary

The City of Sumner is hiring a Custodial Technician to join the Facilities team. The role focuses on keeping City buildings clean, safe, and welcoming for employees, residents, and visitors. You will perform custodial and light maintenance duties, rotate across facilities, and work independently while following established procedures.

The position is full-time, non-exempt, with a typical Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. schedule; evenings or weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• At least six months of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collect trash, recycle, and dispose in proper receptacles.
• Clean and sanitize building surfaces, restrooms, and fixtures.
• Vacuum, mop, wash windows, and maintain clean facilities.
• Operate custodial equipment and follow safety policies.
