Job summary

Virgin-Islands-Water- seeks a Janitor to perform routine cleaning across the Authority's buildings and grounds under general supervision. Responsibilities include cleaning floors, washing walls and windows, and removing trash.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and two years of custodial experience, plus good English, basic arithmetic, and the ability to follow written and oral instructions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of custodial experience.
• Ability to lift, push, pull or carry objects.
• Ability to read and write legibly.
• Ability to plan work and complete tasks without close supervision.
• Good knowledge of English, spelling and arithmetic.
• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Sweeps, mops, and scrubs offices, stairs and bathrooms.
• Empties waste paper baskets and trash containers.
• Ensures adequate supply of drinking water for office personnel.
• May secure office at closing time.
• Operates janitorial equipment and tools.
• Cleans floors, washes walls and windows, and removes trash.
