Job summary

The City of Peoria is seeking a Facilities Porter to perform custodial and light maintenance across City buildings. Responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, shared spaces, and organizing rooms for meetings or events. You will also secure buildings and assist with basic repairs.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduation or equivalency.
• Experience: 3 years experience.
• Limited previous experience required in the same or similar positions.

Responsibilities

• Performs custodial care of interior and exterior of City buildings.
• Cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes facilities and fixtures including jail cells and restrooms.
• Moves and arranges furniture and equipment; sets up rooms for meetings and events.
• Locks/unlocks buildings and secures premises.
• Performs preventative, general and semi-skilled maintenance and repairs on City buildings.
• Conducts visual inspections on buildings and equipment.
• Escorts vendors for access and monitoring in facilities.
• Inputs, creates and assigns work orders.
