Job summary

UC Irvine seeks a Custodial Operations Supervisor within Student Housing. You will direct and coordinate custodial staff, schedule cleaning operations, and may perform hands-on duties. Weekend openings and conferences may require additional hours.

Strong leadership, English communication, and knowledge of custodial services are essential. Requires basic computer skills, ability to analyze operations, and close collaboration with maintenance. Valid driver’s license preferred.

Qualifications

• Basic computer application skills required.
• Ability to make decisions, reason, and analyze operations.
• Working knowledge of custodial and housekeeping services.
• Strong organizational skills and independence to complete tasks.
• Proven leadership to guide a team and work as part of a group.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication, listening, and time management.
• Experience supervising custodial staff and evaluating performance.
• Knowledge of custodial equipment, chemicals, and furnishings.

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate custodial operations under supervision.
• Occasional weekend work during opening/closing and conference seasons.
• Provide guidance to staff and ensure adherence to guidelines and policies.
• Coordinate with maintenance to schedule turnovers.
• May perform custodial duties as needed.
