Job summary

UFP Industries is seeking a diligent Janitor to maintain the cleanliness of offices, plant break rooms, restrooms, and other non-manufacturing areas. The role operates under direct supervision with guidance provided on tasks.

Responsibilities include floor mopping, vacuuming, desk and surface cleaning, restroom sanitation, inventory management for cleaning supplies, and exterior property upkeep such as lawn care and debris removal.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of experience in housekeeping is preferred.
• Ability to work in a safe manner.
• Demonstrates ability to follow specific instructions and directions.
• Demonstrates ability to use tools and other equipment as required.
• Ability to pay attention to surroundings.
• Ability to identify safety issues in their work area, and notice equipment malfunctions.
• Ability to understand basic verbal and written instructions in English.
• Ability to work under immediate supervision.
• Ability to pass a drug test.
• Ability to work hours mandated by management.

Responsibilities

• Mops floors, vacuums offices, and dusts and wipes down desks, counters, and other surfaces in the office and break rooms.
• Cleans and scrubs toilets in restrooms.
• Cleans and scrubs refrigerator, microwaves, and ice machine.
• Ensures adequate supply of toilet paper, soap and paper towels is available in restrooms.
• Reports any problems or issues with equipment in restrooms and/or break rooms.
• Maintains adequate inventory on cleaning supplies.
• Maintains the exterior of the property, ensuring outdoor areas are clean, safe, and visually appealing.
• Responsibilities include mowing lawns, trimming shrubs, planting flowers, and clearing debris.
• Handles trash removal, and performs seasonal work like snow or leaf removal.
• Performs other duties as required.
