Job summary

Lozano Smith's San Diego office seeks an Associate Attorney for our Facilities and Business practice group. You’ll support public entities, including school districts, on business, construction, development, and real property matters, in a collaborative, mentorship-focused environment.

You will work with clients to craft practical, timely, and compliant solutions, leveraging strong research and writing skills and a passion for representing educational institutions and public agencies.

Facilities & BusinessAttorney

Our San Diego office is currently seeking an Associate Attorney for our Facilities and Business practice group. In this role, you’ll be part of a team that provides meaningful legal support to public entities such as school districts, focusing on business, construction, development, and real property matters. We offer an inclusive, family-friendly environment where teamwork, open-door communication, and mentorship are at the forefront.

Our ideal candidate has a passion for representing public entities, and a strong interest in school district and public agency law. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with clients to provide practical, timely, and strategic solutions to their business challenges, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws. Prior transactional or litigation experience representing school districts and/or public agencies is a plus, as is familiarity with the California Environmental Quality Act.

Qualifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of California and in good standing.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced
• Passion for advocating for educational institutions and public agencies.
