Job summary

Hitachi Rail Honolulu JV in Pearl City, HI, is seeking a Building Services Technician to join the Honolulu Rail Project. The role requires performing maintenance on electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and related systems, with emphasis on safety and reliability.

You will respond to equipment issues, oversee maintenance contracts, maintain records in CMMS, and work shifts including weekends and holidays as part of a major infrastructure program.

Qualifications

• Experience of electrical and common structural equipment maintenance.
• Ability to use common and specialized tools and test equipment.
• Knowledge of or the ability to attain knowledge of the safety rules regarding lock-out tag-out protection.
• Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, operations manuals, manufacturers’ maintenance instructions and to comprehend the operations and maintenance of MSF and stations mechanical and electrical equipment systems.
• A current CDL is a mandatory requirement for this job; if not possessed, must acquire within 12 months with company covering training.

Responsibilities

• Performs corrective, preventive and unscheduled maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Maintain HVAC, plumbing, lighting, cranes and related systems.
• Responds to equipment malfunctions and completes repairs across the rail system, including substations and train stations.
• Oversee building maintenance contracts and service work; process and contract out repair requests.
• Produce accurate maintenance records and support day-to-day maintenance performance using CMMS.
• Participates in training programs and complies with safety rules.
