Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 2 years of custodial or housekeeping facility experience.
• Must possess or obtain a valid Michigan Driver’s License.
• Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 80 lbs and work variable shifts, weekends, and overtime as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily routine cleaning operations and project cleaning in assigned areas.
• Set up and tear down equipment and fixtures for conferences, athletic events and other special events.
• Inspect buildings and perform routine minor repairs to buildings, equipment, fixtures, and furniture.
• Perform daily recycling collection and report maintenance needs to the Physical Plant office.
• Maintain good relations with the public and staff; protect confidentiality and present a neat appearance.
• Operate and maintain custodial equipment safely and efficiently; follow chemical handling procedures.
• Coordinate with the Physical Plant Director and Supervisors on assigned duties and schedules.
