Overview

The Facilities Assistant II provides maintenance and repair services for several Covenant House properties.

Responsibilities

• Handle routine maintenance and repairs of equipment and physical plant across multiple properties.
• Assist with maintaining all agency buildings, equipment, and inventory.
• Manage maintenance requests and assist with snow removal.
• Control and track inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Handle shipping, receiving, and proper handling of agency property.
• Support housekeeping with heavy lifting and equipment cleaning.
• Perform minor vehicle maintenance and coordinate vehicle repairs and cleaning.
• Assist with fundraising event setup, delivery, and teardown, including outside normal hours.
• Operate powered and non-powered tools following safety procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including email communication and mandatory training attendance.
• Work occasional weekends as needed.

Position Details

This is an on-call Per-diem position, with multiple openings for day, afternoon, or night shifts.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable record.
• 1-2 years of related experience.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to travel throughout Northern New Jersey using the company vehicle.
