SanMar Corp. in Sparks, NV is seeking a Warehouse Assistant to perform daily cleaning, restocking, and related duties in a fast-paced distribution setting. You will stand/walk much of the shift, lift up to 50 pounds, and follow safety protocols and MSDS guidelines.

Reliable attendance and teamwork are essential. Pay is $16.50 per hour with a $1.00 shift differential, shift 12:30pm–9:00pm, and overtime may be required.

Formación

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Six months experience in a related field.
• Ability to read labels and safety instructions.

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of the building including trash removal, sweeping and mopping.
• Restock restroom and break room supplies as needed.
• Maintain a daily log of tasks assigned and completed if required.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential Functions

• Daily cleaning and sanitizing of building to include, but not limited to, trash removal, sweeping, and mopping of floors in restrooms and break room, vacuuming carpets in offices and showroom. 60%
• Restock supplies in restrooms and break room as needed. 35%
• May be required to maintain a daily log of tasks assigned and completed. 5%

QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent

Work Experience

• Minimum of six months experience in a related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Should be able to read, write, and have sufficient ability to identify label information and verbally communicate with staff in an appropriate manner.
• Demonstrated ability to follow directions and change priorities or job duties as business needs require.
• Knowledge of floor care, floor care chemicals, sanitizers and building maintenance equipment preferred.
• Good communication skills.
• Excellent organization skills; demonstrating the ability to multi-task and prioritize daily responsibilities.
• Must comply with all internal Personal Protective Equipment requirements.
• Understand how to read a Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) and know the locations of the MSDS books within the facility.
• Must be detail-oriented with the ability to recognize areas that need immediate attention and respond promptly.
• Self-starter with proficient initiative
• Ability to work efficiently, with minimal supervision.
• Able to work both independently and within a team.
• Comprehends verbal and written instructions.
• Regular and prompt attendance.
• Overtime as required, which may include weekends.

Physical and Environmental Requirements

DC Warehouse (Non-Equipment): While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand, walk, talk and hear. The employee frequently lifts and/or moves up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 60 pounds. The employee frequently uses both hands as well as full range of motion of the neck, head and back. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, grasp and perform repetitive hand, wrist and arm motions. The employee frequently required to climb stairs, kneel/squat, bend and carry. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Employee may be required to wear a headset covering one or both ears. Basic literacy is required for operation of machines and necessary daily paperwork. Work environment is moderately noisy. The employee is occasionally required to work near conveyor systems. There is exposure to dust and changes in weather conditions. Work is performed under typical warehouse conditions. Potential hazards exist with regard to machinery such as forklifts, pallet jacks, mechanized systems, etc. Work environment is hectic and fast-paced. The employee is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and can be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold including climates consistent with outside weather conditions.
