Position Summary
Provides instructional leadership and practical hands‑on training in medical front‑office management, healthcare data entry, electronic health records ( EHR ), medical terminology, patient scheduling, billing/coding fundamentals, and healthcare ethics. Responsible for preparing students for entry‑level administrative roles in medical offices, hospitals, and clinics, and equipping them to pass national certification exams (e.g., CRMAA , CRMAS , CEHRS ). Supervisory Responsibility: Direct academic and laboratory supervision of students during classroom lectures, software simulations, and administrative lab sessions. No direct employee supervision. Essential Duties/Major Accountabilities: 1. Instruct students in front‑office procedures, medical record management, financial workflows (copays, claims, billing basics), professional communications, and patient privacy standards ( HIPAA ). 2. Facilitate hands‑on training using Electronic Health Record ( EHR ) systems, practice management software, and medical coding platforms ( ICD -10-CM, CPT , HCPCS basics). 3. Develop and update course syllabi, lecture materials, computer lab simulation scenarios, and skill assessment rubrics aligned with program learning outcomes. 4. Evaluate student accuracy in healthcare documentation, administrative tasks, keyboarding, and diagnostic/procedural coding fundamentals. 5. Maintain accurate student attendance, academic performance, and skill competency records using college software. 6. Prepare students to sit for national credentialing exams, such as the American Medical Technologist Certified Medical Administrative Specialist ( CMAS ) test.
National Certification (Must possess at least one active credential):Varies based on course assignments and departmental need; may include day, evening, or weekend lecture and lab sessions
