Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Quality Auditor for the Athens, GA area to perform quality inspections on excavators and tractors during a 3rd shift.

The role involves using checklists, recording data, and ensuring components meet specifications while handling heavy parts and working overtime when needed. Ideal candidates will have manufacturing experience, SAP proficiency, and strong problem-solving and communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing experience required.
• Overtime on short notice to support business needs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency with SAP software.
• Experience with inspection and product auditing processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality inspection based on the check-list of inspection points/procedures.
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, Cab electrical tests, templates, etc.).
• Perform overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.
• Use lifting devices to move heavy components of weights of more than 35 lbs.
• Inspect products to ensure it meets the specifications.
• Gather data from various tools and tooling systems and document quality issues into a computer system and flag defects for repair.

As a Quality Auditor at Caterpillar Inc., you will perform various product audit functions on excavators and tractors.

In This Role You May Be Expected To

• Perform quality inspection based on the check- list of inspection points/procedures
• Complete inspections using a checklist and tooling provided (static tools, dry leak testing, Cab electrical tests, templates, etc.)
• Perform overall quality inspection at quality gates or at pre-delivery inspection.

Basic Qualifications

Physical Requirements (with Or Without Reasonable Accommodation)

• Willing and able to stand for prolonged periods
• Willing and able to perform repetitive operations
• Willing and able to lift up to 35 lbs.

Top Candidates Will Also Have

• Previous quality experience in a manufacturing environment
• Intermediate proficiency (Basic skills/knowledge. Capable of functioning independently) with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Intermediate proficiency in SAP software
• Experience with inspection and product auditing processes
• Intermediate proficiency with measurement equipment and gages
• Strong working knowledge of Assembly/Manufacturing practices
• Advanced problem solving/troubleshooting ability
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work
• Heavy equipment machine assembly experience with tractors or excavators

Additional Information:

This is a 3rd shift hourly position in Athens, GA. Entry wage is $22.19/hour (includes 8%-night shift premium).

3rd Shift Schedule: Sunday-Thursday, 11pm - 7:10 am; overtime as needed

Summary Pay Range

$20.55 - $25.65
