Job summary

Cosma International in Birmingham, AL, seeks a skilled Welder/Fabricator to support production dies and tooling. You will repair dies, fabricate tools, jigs, and fixtures to meet customer production requirements in a heavy industrial setting.

This role requires a strong technical background, welding experience (MIG/TIG/Arc), and hands-on training; minimum 3 years in heavy industry; high school diploma required; opportunities for growth and hands-on training.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 2-year associate degree preferred.
• 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent education and experience.
• Technical training in Mig/Tig/Arc welding.
• Basic Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Strong technical background with welding/fabricating.
• Minimum 3 years in heavy industrial environment.

Job Responsibilities

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Some of the physical demands for this position include the ability to lift 40 pounds, standing and walking for extended periods of time, and occasional bending and stooping.

Equipment / Tools Used

Some of the equipment and tools used are: Mig, Tig and Arc welding machines, Hand tools, Oxy/Acy cutting torch, Air Grinders

KNOWLEDGE

Education

• High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year Associates Degree from accredited technical college is preferred, or equivalent experience
• One to two years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

TECHNICAL TRAINING: Mig/ Tig / Arc Welding

OTHER: Welding courses, Computer skills; Basic Microsoft Word and Excel
