Job summary

Truck and Trailer Specialties, Inc. is seeking a Truck Fabricator Technician to fabricate and install truck bodies and equipment on chassis. You will weld ferrous and nonferrous metals using MIG or Arc techniques and support daily shop functions.

The role requires experience in welding/fabrication, a high school diploma, and a valid driver’s license ( Forklift and crane certifications preferred). This on-site position offers benefits and opportunities for growth within the shop team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current regular driver’s license to move vehicles.
• Forklift operator certification.
• Overhead crane operator certification.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, modify, and install truck bodies and equipment to chassis.
• Weld ferrous and nonferrous metals using MIG or Arc techniques.
• Support daily shop functions and perform requested fabrication tasks.
• Ensure quality and safety in all fabrication activities.

Job Title: Truck Fabricator Technician

Reports to: Fabricator Team Leader / Director of Operations

Department: Operations

Job Summary: Responsible for custom fabrication of customer’s trucks.

Supervisory Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

Support daily functions including, but not limited to:

• Support all daily functions of the shop
• Fabricate, modify, and install truck bodies and equipment to chassis
• Utilize tools such as:
• Welders
• Torches
• Plasma cutters
• Shears
• Punch presses
• Drill press
• Metal cutting saws
• Fabricate parts as needed
• Weld ferrous and nonferrous metals using MIG or Arc (electrode) techniques
• Other duties as assigned to meet the ongoing needs of the organization

Required Skills/Abilities:

• General comprehension of, and experience in, the truck build up process
• General understanding of truck components
• Experience with Welding/Fabrication
• Ability to work alone with minimal or no supervision
• Working knowledge of basic office software (such as Microsoft Office)
• Working knowledge of company software and procedures
• Great attitude and ability to work with others
• Good communication skills, written and verbal
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current regular driver’s license to move our vehicles

Requirements

• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen (including THC/marijuana), physical, and background check.
• Must have a current drivers license to move our vehicles.
• Must be able to work 7am-5pm shifts Monday through Friday and 7am-11am shifts two Saturdays a month.
