Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie in Stockton, CA is seeking a Fabricator responsible for bending, seating, flanging and top flanging material according to work orders and drawings. You will operate manual press brake and punch press, package products, and perform quality inspections to ensure safety, quality and lean production goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years related warehouse experience and/or training.
• Production and Processing: knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
• Operation Monitoring: watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
• Selective Attention: ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction.
• Mathematics: arithmetic knowledge.
• Active Listening: giving full attention to others, asking questions when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual press brake and punch press to manufacture parts according to prints and work orders.
• Package finished products in cartons, apply labels, and palletize finished products.
• Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications using calipers, micrometers, and tape measure; communicate issues to leadership.

As a Fabricator, you will be responsible for bending, seating, flanging and top flanging material according to work order and production drawing specifications in such a manner as to achieve safety, quality, efficiency and lean production goals. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

Operate manual press brake and punch press and manufacture parts according to prints and work orders. (60%)

Package finished products in cartons, applying labels, and palletizing finished products. Gather and stage work. Maintain a clean work environment. (30%)

Perform quality inspections to drawings and specifications per procedures using various equipment such as calipers, micrometers and tape measure. Communicate with department leadership regarding issues and improvements. (10%)

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

WORK STATUS & LOCATION

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in Stockton, CA. This is a Swing shift position (3:30pm - 12:10am).

RELOCATION

Relocation is not available for this position.

PAY

$18.00 / Hour

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, see, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. This role operates large equipment while standing for approximately 8-12 hours, regularly twisting and bending in a repetitive motion. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift, carry, push and pull materials and objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and heavier weights with proper equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job may risk exposure to heat and/or cold, loud noise levels, vibration, and moving mechanical parts.
