Job summary

Bridgewater Studio is seeking a Fabricator / Scenic Carpenter to join our Chicago-based team. This full-time role offers competitive compensation, benefits, and weekly pay. You’ll contribute to hands-on projects from day one in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Located at 4834 S Oakley Ave, Chicago, IL 60609, Bridgewater Studio works on immersive environments for major brands and institutions. Overhire opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in fabrication, installation, carpentry and cabinet building.
• Experience in themed fabrication for museums, retail, experiential marketing or theatre.
• Ability to read and interpret 2D shop drawings.
• Excellent communication and teamwork.
• High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and assemble scenic elements for projects.
• Install and support set pieces at various sites.
• Collaborate with team to meet project timelines.
• Read 2D shop drawings and translate them into built components.

Bridgewater Studio is growing! We’re looking for talented and experienced Fabricators and Scenic Carpenters to become part of our fast-moving, creative, and collaborative team.

Located in Chicago’s Back of the Yards neighborhood, Bridgewater Studio is a nationally recognized Experiential Design and Production Agency. We create immersive, story-driven environments for some of the world’s most recognizable brands and institutions-including the Smithsonian, Griffin Museum of Science and Industry, Universal Studios, Nike, and LinkedIn.

Who We’re Looking For

If you’re experienced in themed fabrication and carpentry for museums, retail, experiential marketing or technical theatre, you might be a great fit.

What Makes a Great Candidate

• Strong skills in fabrication, installation, carpentry, cabinet building, prop fabrication, experiential marketing, theme park and museum exhibit fabrication.
• Excellent communication and teamwork
• Ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to read and interpret 2D shop drawings
• High attention to detail
• Familiarity with woodworking processes and equipment, HPL laminate, finish carpentry, fixturing and assembly
• A passion for working on meaningful, creative projects
