Job summary

Steel Dynamics, Inc. welds and fabricates in shop and field. The role involves basic electrode and MIG welding, pipe fitting, and assembling steel structures from fabrication drawings. Candidates should have a high school diploma and 5+ years of manual and CNC machining experience, plus the ability to pass a mechanical aptitude test.

Preferred are 2 years of industrial experience and completion of a recognized welding or machine shop program. Equal opportunity employer.

Brief Description

Welding and fabrication in shop and field. General machining duties. All duties assigned by the supervisor are to be performed in a safe and efficient manner.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Proficient in basic electrode and mig welding, including pipe fitting and pipe welding.
• Able to assemble steel structures utilizing fabrication drawing.
• Proficient in basic machine shop practice
• Able to work without direct supervision.
• Able to work overtime when required.
• All other jobs assigned by the shift supervisor.

Experience/Requirements

Required

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5-Years of manual and CNC Machining experience
• Must complete Mechanical Apptitude Test

Preferred

• 2-Year verifiable work experience in industrial environment
• Completion of a recognized welding program or machine shop program
