Job summary

Conductix-Wampfler in Harlan, IA is seeking a Fabricator Machine Operator to set up, adjust, and run fabrication equipment to produce metal components per blueprints and work orders. You will ensure safe operations, maintain quality standards, and keep accurate production records.

You will read part drawings and process routings, operate equipment such as press brakes, rollers, punch presses, and grinders, and use calipers and micrometers for precision measurements while following ISO and 5S

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent, or 1-2 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Basic math skills including dimensions, quantities, metric conversions, algebra, and geometry.
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, diligence, and time management skills.
  • Welding experience is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Live and promote safety in every task.
  • Operate machines in the fabrication department including CNC Laser, CNC Waterjet, presses, rollers, and grinders.
  • Maintain accuracy in recording inventory transactions and labor times.
  • Become proficient with ERP systems to access data for inventory and production orders.
  • Continuously seek ways to fabricate items more efficiently.

  • Operate fabrication equipment includes press brakes, rollers, punch presses, sanders, drills, grinders, shears, saws, and other fabrication machinery.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, rules, squares, angle gages, and height gages.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Employee must be willing and able to successfully pass our in-house forklift & overhead crane certification program prior to operating these machines within our facility. Operating these machines is an essential function of this role. This certification program will assess proficiency in safe operation according to our company’s standards and protocols. Training will be provided.
